Coastal Property Inquiry
The mandatory percentage Windstorm or Hail deductible is applicable to all Massachusetts Homeowners form 2,
3 and 5 policies located in Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket Counties,
and to other properties located within ˝ mile of the coast in the rest of the Massachusetts.
To assist producers in determining if a coastal address is located within mandatory percentage
deductible area, the Association has added a Coastal Proximity Inquiry function to the
“Producer Home Page”. This function enables Producers to determine if a location is located
within mandatory percentage deductible area and the mandatory percentage Windstorm or Hail
Deductible is applicable. You may access this function by selecting the Coastal Proximity
Inquiry link on the Producer Home Page. A user name and password is required to
access the “Producer Home Page”.
Once an address has been entered and submitted you will receive one of the following responses:

“The address is within ˝ mile of a coastal territory.”
(The mandatory percentage Windstorm or Hail Deductible applies.)

“The address is not within ˝ mile of a coastal territory.”
(The mandatory percentage Windstorm or Hail Deductible does not apply.)

“Multiple addresses were found.”

Please remember this function is only for Coastal locations. The Coastal Proximity
Inquiry Page also includes links to the “Coastal Community Listing” and the percentage
Windstorm or Hail Deductible “Quick Reference Sheet”. Producers must use the Coastal
Proximity Inquiry function to research property addresses, as the Association’s
Customer Service Department will not provide information regarding coastal proximity
for specific locations.
